Hidden Gem

Those of you lucky enough to be invited to my first wedding may remember my vows to my wife. (You probably don't because we were all so drunk). My vows included a line about how she was a hidden gem that had gone unnoticed until I found her and how lucky I was to have found her. 48 hours later when we were filing for a divorce for fundamental flaws, and her "extra-cuuriculars," it turns out she was not a hidden gem. HOwever the movie, The Wendell Baker Story, may be just that. It was written by Luke Wilson and star Owen Wilson and Eddie Griifin, even a small cameo by WIll Ferrell. The movie has a very similar feel to a Wes Anderson, and even features a few of the lesser known actors from those movies. It probably has a little more to say, and has a little more "heart" than a Wes Anderson movie, but it is similar in the type of comedy and is a "coming of age" movie in which the character grows as a person. It shows that Owen and Luke Wilson are hilarious and great actors, they just have to write their own movies, all the other movies they are in suck. (Vacancy, My Super-Ex Girlfriend, Hoot, Shanghai Knights, Night at the Museum to name a few.
