Too Sad For Cake...

This week's Too Sad For Cake Award goes to the Milwaukee Brewers. Not for being swept by the Rockies, not for giving up 36 runs in 3 games, but for getting 2 runs off of a pitcher with a broken leg. Colorado's starting pitcher, Francis, was hit by a ball in the first inning and ended up pitching until the end of the sixth inning, giving up 2 runs. It turns out that he suffered a broken leg from the ball. So he was pitching for those six innings with a broken leg and the Brewers still couldn't hit him. WTF? That is just sad. Some people can barely walk to the bathroom with a broken leg, yet this guy pitched rather well for the next 2 hours. I'm embarrassed to be a Brewers' fan today. This team is turning into a joke.

Since they are still in 1st, not really. What has been the joke has been the slow down. Or has it? They have not played good ball since late June, yet retain first place. Albeit in a weak ass division, but 1st nonetheless. I hate Nasty Ned as much as anybody, and being forced to start Counsell anywhere is really sad, but look at the upside...as of now, 1st with 1.5 games.
