Sunday was fan apprecxiation day at Miller Park for the BRewers. How do they thank the fans? Not do they give Yost another vote of confidence saying eh will be backm they don't play Fielder (the best player), Hall (a fan favorite), and they allow Jenkins a standing ovation. I know Hall has been struggling, but put Gross in?? Its a meaningless game, let the fans see who they want to see on the last game. I read in the paper that Fielder had a slightly sprained ankle from the night before, thats why he sat out. I'm not buying it though. He finished the game on Saturday, how hurt could he be. At least let him pinch hit at some point so we can see him swing the bat again. The only player Yost took out so that the fans could cheer him was Jenkins. Now I understand the mentality behind this; he probably won't be back, he has been on the team for ever, was the face of Brewer's baseball for years, and all in all in a stand-up guy (he's never in trouble and does stuff in the community. But why not take Braun out in the 9th so he can get an ovation. He has been one of the best rookies in MLB in years, one of the most prolific Brewers in years. I mean Yost takes him out in 1 run games that matter, but not in a 7 run game that is meaningless. Why not put Fielder in the 9th and immediately take him out so we can cheer him. He has put together one of the best Brewer season in years?
Not only is Yost a terrible coach, but he also doesn't know how to run a fan appreciation night in a meaningless game. About 4 years ago on the last day the Yankees had Clemens and Petite coach the team and have fun with it. The Yankees had already wrapped up the division, now they just wanted the fans and players to have some fun. The Brewers on the other hand use players like Nix, King, Rittino, Dillon, and some jack-ass outfielder I have never hear of. LAME
