Laughs

So today right after school I heard a bunch of commotion in the hall and stepped out of my room to see a circle of about 40 students with 2 kids in the middle fighting. Since all of security was outside getting students on buses, it took about 5minutes for them to get up to the 3rd floor. A police officer came up and busted through the wall of students, slammed one kid to the ground and then tossed the other kid about 10 feet with one hand, and then put both in cuffs. Good times.

I need a laugh, Internets save me..............

Funny originally, really cool done live with the Roots. The Roots should do an entire live show with Andy Sanberg and Lonely Island.0

Funny clip from Jimmy Kimmel (that's 2 in a week); long but worth it. (That's what I told your wife too).

A good collection of It's ALways Sunny animated gifs.

Comedy Clips

Community is a show on Thursday nights. In the lineup of Parks & Recreation, The Office, and 30 Rock, it may be the weak link, but still is funny. The funniest part of the show is the ending after the credits. It usually has nothing to do with the episode and usually features the 2 funniest characters on the show, Abed and Troy. Take a look:

The show itself is not as funny as these 30 second clips, primarily because these two are the funniest characters but they are not in the show as often as Joel McHale's character who is kind of a douche bag with a heart.

Laughter is the gateway to the soul

If you haven't been watching the new Comedy Central show, Tosh.O, let me tell you that you are missing out. It is quite funny. Basically he makes fun of all those people who put up clips on the Internet. The pace of jokes is pretty quick. The first 15 minutes are full of a laugh a second, but the second half does to slow down.

Here are some clips:

Each week he brings someone on the show who has an embarrassing video on the Internet, and has them redeem themselves. These people are good sports about it, despite him making fun of them. This week he brought on a dude who got a giant balloon, filled it with air and tried to climb out of it but got severely stuck in it. Here is the video of him trying to do it with the help of a comedian:

Here is a clip that they made. (I'm glad to see that the NBA is dead to someone else as well)

PS: The first episode of Michael and Michael Have Issues was pretty funny, looks promising. It's basically a show about these two guys who have a show together and are best friends but they hate each other.

Emo still sells

I have blogged in the past about the power of emo, especially in a movie trailer.

I ran across this video of a movie that Spike Jonze is adapting from the book "Everyone Poops." It humanizes the struggles of a child learning the cruel ways of the world and her trying to find her place in it. Powerful stuff.

Okay, I guess I checked and the studio pulled out of the movie and they have decided to not make this one. I guess we will have to wait for this powerful story to hit the big screen.

White People are funny........

I don't watch SNL anymore, and haven't seen an episode in probably 10 years. However I have been seeing more and more skits on the Internets featuring a Andy Samberg and he appears to be genuinely funny. (Too bad his movies aren't funny; so far he has been in Hot Rod and Space Chimps. He does have a hilarious 30 second cameo in Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.)

Here is a clip that aired this week.

Yes, I guess you can say that on network TV.

Here are some of his classics:

Editor's note: Yes, he obviously does drugs.

Please stop

I was driving home tonight and I saw a girl, probably 9, on her bike talking on a cell phone. Why god why?
At least It's Always Sunny starts up again tonight, and The Office comes back next week. All is well again in the world.

Wake me when it's here...

In four weeks the funniest show on television returns. (A close second for 2nd funniest show here.) For those of you who can't wait here is a little video to help hold you over.

Also if anyone buys me a greenman suit I will be the Greenman for Halloween this year.

Where's the laughs?

To end the ages all debate: "What is funnier the Vietnam War or Stoners?" The winner is The Vietnam War.

I went on saw Pineapple Express last night, and I believe it was a huge letdown, especially after seeing Tropic Thunder (before it came out). Pineapple Express is only funnier for about 20 minutes, and it is only the scenes when the three guys (Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Danny McBride) are together. In between those scenes there are non-sense scenes trying to build some subplot in which there is a gang warfare over drug territory in the land and something about crooked cops. The movie even ends with a 15 minute fight sequence in which James Franco and Seth Rogen stop a huge drug cartel that has been running since WWI without any guns or anything.

I think there was potential with just the 3 guys running around making jokes about each other being gay and buying best friend necklaces, but then it slows down with weird plot twists. In the movie Seth Rogen's character has a girlfriend who is in high school (I can relate) which is funny when he visits her in school and sees all these jocks all over her, but then they never return to that at all.

Overall, save your money and go see Tropic Thunder twice.

You can't do that

I thought in honor of George Carlin passing away I would list the 7 words you can't say on television since this is the Internets and you can say them:
****, ***, ****, ****, **********, ************, ****

So there I said them, if you have a problem with me write me a letter.

Here was a great children's show that on a weekly basis did things that you weren't allowed to do on television, but they did it anyways.

Well put

Like always Tuesday's edition of the Colbert Report had a great balance of comedy and insight during the interview. Stephen interviewed George Will on the state of politics and the role it plays.

The line of the night was Political Parties "help us organize our animosities."
I find blogging is also a great way to organize your animosities.

Technology at it's best

Another reason I love freedom is that with my check from the government I was able to buy me a new I-pod. yes, it is pretty much the same and just plays music. However, with this one I could in theory download movies and TV shows. Now they are expensive so I would rather not, but on their website I found some free downloads. One such download are a bunch of clips from The Onion News Network. Just like the Onion Newspaper, the news network is a bunch if fake and hilarious news. Since I cannot read these are much more entertaining.

Before the anger...

Before my angry weekend blogs, and post-traveling blogs, here is a video that is actually pretty funny.

This is not the first video from him that is actually pretty funny. John Mayer's music sucks and is dried up, soft, noodle-rock. But I honestly think John Mayer knows that and only makes it because he can make lots of money and can score with many chicks. Hey, why not.

NOT Too Sad for Cake

I went to a conference/celebration this morning for my job. (My day job not my night "job") The point of the conference was to present the individuals in attendance with information about scores and averages in their school buildings and see what kinds of growth have been made. YadaYadaYada. Everything like this we do on the weekends is paid, so I figured, 'Why Not?' Go down there on a Saturday morning listen to some guy and a get a nice meal, and get paid for it. Sign me up. After a brief introduction of the data, we moved on the the main reason we were there, the food. They served us a nice 5-Star, 3-course lunch meal. THe speaker had taken a little longer than they had planned and it was already 1 (when it was supposed to end) and desert had not been served yet. I was then told that they were extending the pay for another half hour until 1:30 so we could all get dessert. Wait, we're going to get paid to eat dessert?!? Wow, what a world. You have got to love being a part of a union where you can get away with this sort of thing.

Also, right before lunch they brought two students to do a skit that won them the state forensics tournament this year. These two kids did a pitch perfect, word-for-word rendition of Abbott and Costello's Who's on First. It was actually quite impressive.

Fuuny stuff....

I find people making other people incredibly awkward and angry hilarious. My wife didn't find it funny when I showed up at Thanksgiving drunk, naked, with a plastic knife in my mouth. She just didn't understand the brilliance of my comedy.
