Random Rantings

Two observations/rants today..........

I stumbled across this article, I know many of you may have read it before it is not new, but is interesting. I am not sure how cell phones and their signals would scare bees away. Then again, maybe the bees know something we don't.

I was driving out of work today and saw an accident probably about 4-5 minutes after it occurred. There was quite a bit of glass on the road and one of the cars was up on the sidewalk about 10 feet, and was actually on the grass. The interesting thing about the crash was where it occurred and who was the first to respond.

The accident occurred at an intersection (a 3 of business on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the busiest). So I am not sure how it even occurred (my guess is it involved a cell phone). The ironic thing was that the one car ended up on the curb right in front of the hospital and this is directly across the street from the police station. When I was driving by (was actually stopped at the light), there were no police or ambulance there yet. However, the first to respond was a fire truck, which actually had to go almost a mile. I am not sure how the fire truck got there first, but it did. There were also about 2-3 doctors/nurses in scrubs at the scene, but no ambulance or police. The whole scene was just kind of ironically funny.

Random Rantings

I know it's Sunday and only 1 o'clock but I have already noticed a few things worth ranting about.
  • I was driving around and saw an old dude in wheelchair shoveling. WTF?
  • I went to Sam's Club (always has a unique demographic on a Sunday morning), but I noticed that they sell gift cards there. Okay, but the weird thing is the pricing of them. The $25 gift cards for I-tunes, Olive Garden and place like that were $24.88. Woo-hoo, I save 12 cents. The $50 cards were $48.44, you save $1.56. However what was really weird was that their were these MasterCard $25 gift cards, which I am guessing worked just like a debit card, and they were being sold at $26.12. WTF? Why are they more expensive than the face value?
  • Based on a suggestion from Edgrimley, I am currently downloading openoffice.org. It is suppossed to work just like Microsoft Word, but without the glitches and it is free. I will know in about 3 minutes when it is done downloading if it works. If that is some scheme for my rival blogger to once and for all finally take me down, there will be repurcussions. It says it can also open any word file and saves in a format that can be opened in Word. One thing that has been annoying me lately is that Word does not want to open any files that are not from that exact version of Word. It won't even open a file from a version of word from a year ago. I don't get it.

Random Rantings

A few things I have noticed in the last few days that made me angry (the last one is just bad-ass)
  • I have ranted in the past about this switch to digital tv from analog tv. First off, it is not difficult. If you do not have cable or satellite service that you pay for, you need to get a converter; I have no idea why so many people are confused. Second, why doesn't the government just give away the converters because so many people are complaining that they cannot afford a $50 converter. Now the government has passed a bill that the switch will not take place until June. This is just getting sad. I think they should just scrap the whole thing at this point. The affect of the switch is very minimal (if any positive effects) but the money and time cost is way high. P.S. why is the government wasting time on passing a bill about this when we are fighting a war, the economy is in the s**t, we just switched presidents, etc?
  • Somehow Paul Blart was the #1 movie in America. If you saw this movie, go kill yourself because clearly there is no way you could ever positively contribute to society. There are plenty of better movies out there now during "Award Season," or even better yet stay home and read a book or contribute to society.
  • This story here is just bad ass. I once survived on whiskey for two days, but I wasn't really trapped under my sofa.

Two Quick Rants

I know this week is quickly turning into a week of updates on this blog but today I have two:

  • Paul Blart Mall Fart was the #1 movie in America last weekend. WTF? So you mean to tell me that off all the people who went out to see a movie last weekend, the majority of them thought "Hey, why don't we go see that horrible movie about that fat stereo-typical American who has a s**tty job as a mall security guard, and some how he gets locked in with some people trying to rob the place after hours, and he saves the day without the cops help. Oh yeah, there are also two toilet seasons." WTF? Why not go see an actual good movie, seeing that this is the time of the year that all those award-winning movies are out.
  • Last night I hid awayand watched the season premiere of Lost (good) but there were 6 commercials breaks in the first 60 minutes of the show. There was literally about 35-40 minutes of actual show to watch. I guess since the economy is doing horrible and companies are not willing to pay very much for an ad spot, the networks will just sell more commercial spots and have less show.

Busy Days

So CHopper here has had an interesting few days.
  • Friday night, went to wedding to once again see that love is not real. We got 11 inches of snow that day and I couldn't even drive on my street. I had to park at a hotel that I wasn't staying at and get a cab home at night, and then a cab to my car in the morning.
  • On Saturday night I decided to stay out of town at my parents because they have a garage and my street was still s**t.
  • Come Sunday Morning the windchill was minus 25 degrees! My car wouldn't start. We tried everything. We jumped it, tried cranking the engine, tried warming it up with space heaters. NOthing would work. I decided to wait til Tuesday when it was suppossed to warm up to a balmy 24 degrees.
  • On SUnday night I officially won my Fantasy Football league somehow by 6 points. I'm waiting for the comissioner to put in his codes so he wins............
  • I spent the day Sunday and Monday at my parents because my car wouldn't start. Oh-well. On Monday me and my dad were sitting around and the house began to get smoky. There was an electrical fire in the crawl space above the ceiling in his front office. The fire department came, no flame, but they had to rip a hole in the ceiling of the office. THe whole ceiling came down. Some stuff (computer, desk) will have to be replace, while some made it through (bookcase, chair). ALl in all it could have been worse. Someone is coming in on Monday to put the ceiling back together and what not, until then the room is condemned. (Literally the housing authoirty came and closed off the room). The funniest thing is that 2 local news came becuase the fire department came out and they must listen to the airwaves. They asked my dad for a statement, but he said it wasn't a story and it was ridiculous that they were covering this when there were major accidents and murders happening in Milwaukee.
  • Today (Tuesday) I went to start my car when it was "warmer" and it still wouldn't start, so I took it in. (I have free towing with my cell phone). Yada yada yada, it has something to do with coordided spark plugs and stuff. $500 later it should be fixed in about 3 hours. (I'm at the dealership now).
  • So I am going to be off the airwaves until Friday, I will have no access to the Internets over the holidays do to the computer room being "condemned." (I'll make up with it over the next week.)
  • Happy Festivus.

Are you kidding me?

I just read this story moments ago on ESPN. It seems that the Broncos have lost their starting running back for the year. This thing happens all time, except this was their 5th starting running back. They already have 4 out for the year, and one who hasn't played in months, and may miss the year. What are the odds of this ever happening? The Broncos used to historically just pound the ball, regardless of their running back. Shanahan has been noted as saying he doesn't care who the running back is, everyone is expendable. Now their started is going to be someone who was on the practice squad, and someone who was selling cell phones at the mall a month ago.

What's that? Read that article again, especially the last paragraph. Tatum bell was selling cell phones! I read his wikipedia page. He was drafter 41st in the draft, led all AFC rookies in running in 2004, and was accused of stealing Rudi Johnson's luggage when the Lions signed Johnson and realeased Bell. How does a guy like this end up selling luggage. I am sure in 2004 when he was drafter he signed a contract worth over $500,000 a year. I know this economy sucks but after being in the league full time for 4 years and then being cut you have to work a minimum wage job selling cell phones. Sad.
Here is another interesting blog looking at the same phenomenom.

Random Rantings

Another Sunday down, another round of rants.........
  • The Packers suck, and they shouldn't have to. Horrible play calling, an emo-hipster QB, and no leadership are to blame. Every time they threw the ball deep, the Packers WRs beat the cornerbacks, it wsn't always a good throw, but they were open. Yet the Packers only threw the ball deep 5 times. They still try that running s**t way too oftern. They should dink and dunk and do screen plays way more often. Also, their rushing defense is awful. See you next season.
  • Pittsburgh defense is the best I have seen in years. It is a wonder that anyone has scored on them this season. If their offense comes around, look out. Also, I am not sure why their offense is so bland. They have a great QB, 2-3 good WRs, and 2 good running backs, yet struggle to score any points. Something is a miss. (Update: Dallas just got a TD)
  • During the whole pre-game they kept saying that this was Detroit's best chance of a win (they lost). I am not sure why this week was their best chance. They were playing the division leading Vikings, who have a great rush offense and the Lions have the worst rush defense. If anything the Lions best chance is at Green Bay in the last week because the Packers suck and have nothing to play for.
  • I went to Sam's Club, and that's enough to get someone angry. Why do they have that person at the door who checks your receipt and sees what you bought? If you went through the line, you purchased everything, what is this person checking for? When I went today, I waited longer at the door to get my receipt checked, than I did in the actual line. The person in front of me had a full cart, and the lady checked every item in the cart to the receipt.
  • The TV is telling me we could get 6-12 inches of snow throughout the day on Tuesday. You've been warned Mother Nature.

Random Rantings

So I had today off, and it has been awhile since I have experience the world on a random weekday:

  • A bunch of us who work together went out last night for a few drinks, and man can you really see the other side of some coworkers after a few drinks. Why in the world would you decide to get shitty drunk in front of people you work with everyday? It's okay to control yourself in public with coworkers and then go home and polish off that bottle of Jameson alone in your basement, like some of us do. Also, why would you want to do karaoke in front of these same people, and find it weird that some people refuse to karaoke.
  • Once your body is used to get up early on a Wednesday, there is no way to sleep late, even when you have nothing to do that.
  • This morning I watched Tropic Thunder, hilarious movie. After watching that movie, this clip, and listening to this audio clip (some jag-off asking him bizarre and offensive questions at a press conference), I would have to say Robert Downey Jr. is the coolest guy in Hollywood.

  • I was out and about running some errands, so I decided to stop at Taco Bell for lunch. These 2 chick in front of me ordered a bunch of stuff with extra meat, extra sour cream, and what not, and they both drank water. Their total was $22.50. At Taco BEll. How? My total was $4.74, and I was stuffed when I was done.
  • I went on the freeway at 1:15, and there was already rush hour traffic then. Does anyone ever work a full day anymore?
  • I stopped off at Barnes and Noble to see if about getting a book, since I now know how to read. There was a huge sign when you walked in saying "December 6th, 25% off sale on everything." It was some promotion to thank their customers and what not. So I turned around and figured I would come back next Saturday.
  • Taking a nap at 3:30 is awesome.
  • It's going to be a long winter now that It's Alway's Sunny In Philedelphia's season is over.

You call this a team?

So, since there was no Packer game today, I was flipping between the Bears-Rams game and Jets-Titans. Obviously the Jets-Titans is going to be more interesting, but I have too much of my fantasy team (and season) relying on the Jets-Titans game. (I am not doing well in that game. Dear Tennessee, run the ball.) I was on the Rams-BEars game right when it was going into halftime. The Rams are down 24-3 and the Rams fans begin to boo at halftime. What? What did you think was going to happen? Your Rams are horrible. If not for the Lions, you would have the worst team in football. It got me to thinking, what would actually make you want to go to a St. Louis Rams' football game?
I know St. Louis is the most dangerous city in America, but there has to be something better to do. I lived down there for 5 years, and I can rattle off hundreds of things I would rather do than go to a Rams game. (Two of which are give myself a root canal and volunteer to clean the top of the arch.)

PS: Why did we trade Favre again? Man, he is looking good today against the stellar defense of Tennessee.

PPS: Jay Glazer is officially dead to me. I have Ward (RB from Giants) and COllins (QB from Tennessee) on my fantasy team. I couldn''t decide who to start. ESPN.com said that Jacobs would probably not start, and Ward would start. So I decided to start Ward. Then on FOX Jay Glazer said Jacobs would start, and in fact felt healthier than he had in weeks. So I sit Ward and start Collins. Then at half time, there is a breaking story that Jacobs won't start, in fact he won't play. Ward will start and get 90% of the snaps. What? How does Jacobs go from being healthier than he has in weeks, to no playing. At this point I am pretty sure Jay Glazer is just making this s**t up.

Quick Rant

I just stopped at my local watering hole for a bite to eat and a few (3) beers. These two "guys" next to me were having a 15 minute conversation about seat warmers in their cars. They were talking about how long they take to get warm, and how hot they can get, and how they can't live without them in winter. Seriously? Are your lives that boring and pathetic that you have to sit around and discuss this? My advice, kill yourselves, you are sad.

That is all, I told you it would be quick. (That's what she said.)

Wednesday Rants

I had a normal day at work but encountered a few things that got my blood flowing in the 3 hours since.
  • I drove home on the freeway in Rush Hour (which I usually don't) and a guy in the next lane was texting while driving in traffice. Also, I let in 6 different cars into my lane because they were in the wrong lane, and not one raised their hand to thank me.
  • I went out to eat dinner with my parents, just because, and was easy dropping on an interesting converstation between two women at the next table. First they talked for 15 minutes about how they had driven past each other in their gated community culdesac in surban America, and they thought it was hilarious. They must lively increadibly boring lives as soccer moms if they conversation lasted 15 minutes. Then one of them made this comment when talking about finding a job, "I want to find something where I can volunteer, but get paid for it." What? Someone needs a dictionary.
  • In case you thought people couldn't get any stupidie, I read a number of articles( 1, 2, 3, 4 5) tonight about a new theoru called the "Huxtable Effect." Basically it says that without the Cosby show people would not have voted for Obama. The Cosby show showed white America that a black family is not a scary thought, they are just like "us." I've watched The Simpsons for years, that doesn't mean I would vote for a 300 pound idiot with yellow skin and 4 fingers.
  • Here's an example of what America's youth is pawning off as work nowadays in school.

Random Rantings- Weekend Edition

I want out on a Friday, which I normally don't do, and today I can barely talk (these are unrelated) and here are my rantings:
  • I was watching Sports Center this morning and half of the Top Ten plays were blacked out. Were there that few highlights yesterday, that they didn't have 10 great plays? Weird. (Update: it appears that the NBA season has started, and they probably had a few plays in the top ten.....whatever)
  • I will say some people are quite creative with their Halloween costumes (and some are not). Last night I saw 5 people dressed and Pacman and 4 ghosts chasing them, quite good. Two dudes were dressed as Mario and Luigi, 2 dudes were dressed as Umpa-Lumpas from Willy Wonka, the band there were all dressed as famous musicians- Willy Nelson, Axl ROse, Buddy Holly, and Blues Brothers-. Then there were unoriginal costumes like the Joker (it's too obvious to dress like that, you should kill youself) and generic things like slutty nurse, slutty cop, slutty whatever.
  • My new least favorite question people ask me is "What kind of music do you listen to? How do I answer that "A little bit of everything?" Or do I dumb it down for them so they know the bands I am mentioning like "Oh U2, Justin Timberlake, yadayadayada...." Or do I tell them a real answer like "Tv on the Radio, The Hold Steady, and Band of Horses." and then the idiot who asked me looks at me like I am crazy and I just made up all those bands. I went with the latter answer last night and both people did look at me like I just made up those names.
  • Packers signed Aaron Rogers to a "Tony Rom0-like" contract. After 7 games, in which he won 4 games, and was hurt. Seems a bit premature. I don't want to hate on the guy but it is unprecident to see this happen, ever. I guarantee when this is all done in about 15 years it will come out that Ted Thompson is really Aaron Rogers' biological father, that is why he goes above and beyound for the QB.
  • Next season's Brewers' season will be laid out in the next 30 days. If they don't get CC, they are done next year. If they sign him for the reported 4 year 100 million, they are done because they will have no money for Hardy, Hart, Gallardo, Parra or anyone else. They need to get him for about $18 mil a year for 3 years, that way it expires the year they need to resign Hart, Gallardom and Parra, then all you have to worry about the year before is Hardy.
That is all (for now) I am going to lie down again for a bit. Angry-dreaming, here I come.

Random Rantings

Just some random rantings from an average Sunday:
  • Before the Brewers game was on I was flipping through the channels and obviously nothing was on. I stopped at Batman Forever (the Val Kilmer one) for a quick minute since it was the best thing on. My god, is that movie horrible. Horrible villains, usually good actors (Tommy Lee Jones) acting horribly, a stupid Robin character, horrible look action sequences. Horrible. I hope Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale make Batman movies for the next 20 years, otherwise I fear they will once again turn into this crap. It also makes me wonder who will be the new villain in the next movie. Riddler? Penguin? Someone new?
  • Manny Parra can really pitch. That curve ball is un-hittable at times. Rookie of the Year?
  • The pre- and post-game of the Brewers features Jeff Cirrilo, except that they all call him Rillo. Stop that. That is the worst nickname I have every heard, it sounds forced. He also has a piece that they call Rillo's Rant in which he gives the keys of the game. He's not even angry when he does this, what is the point of ranting if it is not angry?
  • Ray Durham is a good trade. I don't know much about the guys they gave up. Hopefully Durham starts at 2nd and Weeks comes off the bench, not vice versa. We still need a relief pitcher. During most games our bats are not preventing us from winning, our relief pitching is. Our starters can't keep going 8 innings.
  • The next 2 weeks are incredibly important to the Brewers. 4 games against Cardinals and Cubs. When it is all over Brewers could be anywhere from in 1st place, or as much as 8 games out. Crucial.
  • Suppan starts on Tuesday, he needs to find himself. If he pitches how he can pitch, we have the best 1-2-3-4 rotation in majors.
  • Was sitting around reading and listening to Snoop Dogg "Doggystyle" and I think it is the quinessential rap album. Made all this other rap possible. Every song, every lyric is well executed. He raps about bitches ("Any dog that doesn't pee on trees is a bitch" classic), hoes, drugs, guns, money, everything. I think once I form my super group "Dr. Schtickel and the Anti-dentites" our first album is going to be a word for word cover of Doggystyle. It will feature all genres of music; bluegrass, acoustic, punk, ska, 80s dance, everything).
  • I am going to bring back the word "Swicked." Snoop drops it a bunch on the album, and it is a great word that needs to be popular again.

Random Rantings.........

Having the day off today I ran into a few things that got various levels of anger flowing in me....
  • It must be a slow news day because I just saw a preview for the 10 o'clock news and there is going to be a story on Oprah's niece. The tagline is "Wonder what it would be like to have Oprah as your aunt, watch our exclusive interview on a local woman who knows what its like." Who gives a s**t. Shouldn't the news educate the ignorant out there about the upcoming election, the economy being in a recession, or our pending war in Iran. Something important, not about some fluffy piece for all the soccer moms out there. I can see why this interview is "exclusive," no one else would want to report on this subject. Next week they talk to Ellen's dog-walker.
  • How the f**k did the Brewers lose that game. I was watching every pitch and I still don't believe the Diamondbacks got 6 runs in the 9 with 0 outs. The only reason they are in 1st is that they are in a terrible division and because of their pitching. Their batting average on the team are terrible, actually worse than the Brewers. There 6,7, and 7 hitters in the lineup today had a batting average below .200. Inexcusable. Since the Cubs are playing bad, the Brewers actually have a chance to take the division, but they must win these types of games. After todays loss, it proves that they are still posers in the race for the postseason. Something has to change. (hmmmmm maybe the manager?)
  • I for one don't care about all this new Favre talk. The Packers will not finish 13-3 again this year no matter who is QB, Favre is well past his prime, their offense is better when they run and do short passes, and the NFC is winnable but they need as few distractions (and interceptions) as possible. I am and always will be a Favre fan, and he is probably the greatest ever, but it is time to stay away. I do not think Rogers is the long-term answer however, but you'll never know if you don't try.
  • I just saw a preview for what NBC is going to be playing tomorrow on TV....... Olympic swimming time trials. WTF? That's the best you got? Nothing says freedom like some people swimming against their own best times (not even against competition). They have nothing better to show. Show some old dude on his porch shining his gun talking about the 'good old days' for 8 hours, that would be more American at least.
Thats it......for now.

Sports rantings

Just 3 quick sports ramblings today children:
  • You would think that the NBA would hire better writers. The season finale of the NBA aired last night and the best that the writers could come up with is a 40 point blowout. Lame. The good news is that because the NBA season is so long, it starts back up in like 3 weeks. It was an alright season but you could tell they were affected by the writers strike.
  • Stephen Colbert had a hilarious bit about Ken Griffey Jr.(It's in the first 30 seconds)

It is sad that a good guy who never cheated on the game, his wife, or his taxes, is overlooked historically by some guy who did cheat on the game, his wife, and his taxes.
  • The Brewers are looking "good" again, but it is still scary. I think the final score is overshadowing the fact that they are not that good again. If they had not hit a homerun last night they would not have scored any runs. In fact they never got a runner past 2nd base without a homerun. So a 7-0 blowout really could have been a 0-0 pitchers duel. There is way too much emphasis on the homerun. A guy like Cameron who sucks and is batting about .220 strikes out 3 times a game, but hits a homerun on Sunday and is declared the hero and everyone talks about how glad we should be to have him. I'd rather have a guy who hits .320 with no homeruns than a guy who hits .220 with 10 homeruns, and averaging 1.5 strikeouts per game. Outside of Braun, Fielder, and Hart everyone is batting under .240 and a few under .210. Still sad. Plus we have no bullpen. I'm still a fan but they still have way too many gapping holes.

Random Rantings

It's been a few days since I ranted and the anger is building inside me, so here are a few ramblings:
  • These Spears family stories are getting more bizarre by the minute. Now there is this story about Jamie Lynn Spears that she used to party hard core and have sex with any guy (remember she was 15-16 years old). Here's the money quote, Just days before announcing her pregnancy in December, Jamie Lynn shocked a boy at a party by asking him for sex. "It's cool, I'm pregnant," she said. "I can't get pregnant again!" Good stuff.
  • I was watching the news Friday morning before worka nd there was a story about all the complaints these online e-card sites were getting. People weren't able to send their Valentine e-cards because of the large amount of on-line traffic. SOme people complained that they had to wait as long as 12 seconds for a page that should take 3 seconds. First off, don't they know that love isn't real so they are wasting their time. Secondly, its just an e-card; I could see being angry that it took 12 seconds for you porn site to load, but an e-card site, just wait. Third, remember 4 years ago when everyone accessed the Internet by dial up and the simplest of web pages took 30 seconds to load, we forget so quickly.
  • I thought it was "bros before roids." I am having a hard time believing how quickly Petite has turned on his wife Clemens over this Steroids issue. The first chance he had he turned in Clemens saying he knows and saw Clemens using performance enhancing drugs. Come on, where's your loyalty? That's almost quicker than how fast my wife turned on me at my manslaughter trial (I was found not guilty without her help). Update: I guess Petite and Clemens weren't married, I figured they were because they followed each other to every team they have played for the past 8 years.
  • It's the NBA All*Star Weekend. I turned my TV to see part of it but my screen was blank, oh yeah the NBA is dead to me.
  • CNN has this article on whether sexism or racism is less offensive in politics. Which is a more humane way to kill someone drowning or electrocution? These are basically the same type of question. Why are either of these even an issue nowadays? Who cares? I would vote for a purple bisexual at this point if they were the best candidate, and it wouldn't take much to be the best candidate. Also, I believe racism has been much worse in this country. Many have died over it, and many still suffer beatings and torture from it. Yes, woman are still often viewed down upon, but not to that degree.
  • We are supposed to get another 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow. There is literally no place to put it. There are 10 foot high piles of it on the street, there is no where to park, most roads are on lane, and we are already 30 inches above the average.
Here are two baseball stories to brighten your day. NBC has picked The Brewers to dominate the league and here are 9 reasons to look forward to Baseball season, unfortunately one of them they picked was the Cubs.

Random Rantings (Part 1)

I will have updated Random Rantings after the weekend I am sure, but a few things couldn't wait.

  • A-Rod wants $30 million a year for 12 years. WTF? That is unbelievable. He is a great player no doubt, but is he worth that. That is over half of the entire Brewer's payroll. Sadly some team will pay that.
  • Daunte Cullpepper is being replaced by Josh McCown. Too Sad For Cake. Culpepper was on the cover of Madden Football 2002, now he is being replaced by Josh McClown.
  • Dog the Bounty Hunter is an unbelievable racist. Now A&E has stopped airing his show.
  • Apparently Lance Armstrong is dating or hooking up with Ashley Olsen. What? That image will give me nightmares. I'm not a huge fan of Sherryl Crow, but leave her for Ashley Olsen? This re-proves my theory that Lance Armstrong is a douche bag.
  • Criss (he actually spells his name like that)Angel snapped at some contestant on his show, Phenomenon because the guy claimed to be a psychic. Angel asked him to tell him what was written on a card, the guy immediately called Angel "ideological bigot" (big word) and approached him and they almost fought. Who watches this shit. Who cares who is going to be the next magician, and why does Criss Angel personally attack people who come on his show. After the writers strike next week, we can look forward to much more reality TV like this.

Random Rantings (Sports Edition)

  • The NBA season starts on Wednesday. Who would have known. I know I wouldn't have known except that crime has risen in America recently, must be the NBA season.
  • The NBA is going to allow their referees gamble in casinos during the off season. Brilliant. Can they also slap around hookers and start baby fights? Sign-me up.
  • The World Series was completely lame.
  • They had Boyz 2 Men and a dude from Earth, WInd and Fire sing the national anthem. Couldn't find Tony, Toni, Tone, or Milli Vanilli? How about either an artist from one of those cities or someone who has made music in the last 10 years.
  • Now we have 6 long months of no sport really worth paying attention to.
  • The NFl had a game in London over the weekend, why? I watched the first 2 minutes on Fox and they broadcasters actually said the excitement level was bigger than the Super Bowl. Please, it was the Giants and the Dolphins. The Dolphins might be the worst team in the last 6 years. And they Giants are all ass-holes.
  • How are the Rams 0-7? According to pres-season polls they have a top 3 running back, top 5 wide receiver, and top 10 quarterback. You would think that would correlate to one victory. The Packers have no running back, one top 10 wide receiver, and a 37 year-old quarterback and they are 5-1.
  • If I see one more report on Sports Center about how the fires in California are inconveniencing athletes and how these teams had to practice elsewhere, I am going to go down the their studios and punch Stuart Scott in the face. Who cares. These fires have killed 13, and dissplaced thousands of people with no fire insurance or place to go.

Random Rantings

  • USA Today featured an article today talking about "2007 Most Caring Athletes" and picked Steve Nash and Dwayne Wade. First Nash is Canadian so I don't care how caring he is, he comes from a hippy culture. Wade just left his wife and 2 kids like 3 months ago. How caring is that? Oh yeah honey good luck raising our 2 kids I;m leaving you and are going to start banging every chick I meet on the road.
  • Fox is premiering a new show this week called "The nExt Great America Band" in which competitors audition and compete in the same manner as on American on American IDol, but as bands instead of individuals.
  • Oh yeah. Johnny Rzeznik is a judge on that show, he is the last person on earth who can judge what makes a good band.
  • The shortstop on the Indians spells his name Jhonny Peralta, only an idiot doesn't know how to spell a name as simple as John or Johnny.
  • I really hope they find out someday that those Bluetooth headsets cause severe, irreversible brain cancer. Those people look absolutely ridiculous wearing them.
  • Jimmy Eat World is still making emo music. Those people really must not have been loved by their parents.
  • There is a Jackass video game. What do you do just smash each other in the nuts and shove shit up your ass. Sounds like Snow.man's New Year Eve Party last year.
  • The state of WI might have the worst professional sports coaches in the country. Obviously Ned Yost. McCarthy of the Packers is terrible. When there was 4 mins left, the Packers had the lead and the ball on a 3rd and 2; why not run it and use the clock and maybe get a first down? No, McCarthy does a 60 pass with the New TD King and it is picked off giving the Redskins another chance that they somehow blew. I have no idea who coaches the Bucks, but I am sure he is terrible.
  • Why didn't the Packers trade up to draft Adrian Peterson? (they had offers) The guy gets over 200 yards today, and all our "running backs" combined have never been over 100 in any game.
  • Boston University's football field is called Nickerson Field.
  • On the plus side I guess Al Gore solved World Peace
